I guess cause he gave off that vibe of not giving a shit and being better than whoever came after him. people are into that and it's why psychopaths can succeed socially so often

Apparently he's a top dog in prison now too, got all beefed up pumping iron and is a well respected inmate. Saw an article about this a few days ago.

Everyone thought he was gonna get beat on and pushed around, but apparently had the mental ability to even influence the prisoners to like and respect him.
