Patrice was great.

The whole "recurring cast" for the show; Louie CK, Patrice, Bob Kelly, Rich Vos, Jim Norton (even though he's a cohost), Bill Burr, is amazing. Especially when they all got together.

Patrice was great.

The whole "recurring cast" for the show; Louie CK, Patrice, Bob Kelly, Rich Vos, Jim Norton (even though he's a cohost), Bill Burr, is amazing. Especially when they all got together.

Listening to Jim Norton laugh compliations are the best

I loved Patrice. Dude was legend, but he very much was "The Black Friend" and the community loved to use him as a shield for some of their more toximatic views.

Anytime hes been on Jim and Sam has been awesome, its the only time Jimmy springs back into old form too.

Sam Roberts fucking sucks.
Opie sucked too but he knew to take a back seat with a few interjections here or there whenever the heavy hitters like Patrice, Louie, Burr, Dipaolo, etc were on. Sam just needs to shut the fuck up.

That's one of the reasons why I stopped listening to Live from the Compound though, because he just doesn't shut up about political shit.

The few times I've seen him on J&S he's been good though.

"Old form" is an interesting way of putting it. I like Jimmy, I still think he's decent on J&S, but yeah you can definitely tell he's sanitizing and trying to be more professional (which makes sense since they're the main show on Faction, which behind Stern is the biggest talk channel on SiriusXM IIRC)

I do miss the old days when everything was more "chaotic" though.

I don't know if it was a midlife crisis or something but from 2013ish onwards Opie completely lost it, it seems like. He used to know his role on the show and could step back but past that certain point he just seemed like he needed to prove he could be just as funny as the rest of them

I feel like I missed out on some funniness because I was loyal to Stern. I listen to some of their stuff on youtube now if it has other comedians that I like in it but wouldn't listen to them when they were big. Stern has gone down hill pretty bad but back when they were battling and he had Artie and was actually funny his show was the GOAT. There was just a good amount of talk radio on and I missed half of it for nothing.
