I personally think "No." Because that's not addressing the real issue, which is accessibility to firearms, lack of regulatory enforcement, mental health, and excessive media consumption culture.

But you know, if we want to ignore those things, I guess building schools with the possible shooter specifically in mind could help

Many high schools in bad areas have them retroactively installed. Should every school have to worry about this from now on?

I mean, there must be ways to implement big metal detectors that are hard to see

Maybe inject some money into local PDs to insert a two man team on campus to react to any dangers

bullet proof doors with steel locks is about as far as id like to go.

They should be equipped with armed drones that can listen for shots, then seek and destroy a shooter.

As well as cameras and AI to monitor for concealed weapons and potential shooters.
