1943 P.

Somebody paid with it, as they set their change on the counter I could see its silver edge, and it didnt look like the "silver" edge on a canadian quarter. I could tell what it was immediately.

So there are 99.7 million 1943 silver quarters out there, and the silver melt value (90% silver at .1808 oz) is around 3 dollars.

hooray! im still going to check every quarter I see but i know its possible now. I actually thought it was impossible.

So the rundown for me hunting my retail cash drawer since may of last year:

17 silver dimes
8 war nickels
1 quarter
1 40% half dollar
five!!! silver dollars(three peace, two morgan)

does he know to check the serial numbers for fancy ones worth money?

cause some people have collections and actively collect things but dont even know the potential value of what they have.

like people who hoard and collect wheat pennies. they could have a 1909 S vdb and not even know it

@SunWuKung420

what years(and mints) are they? You could have a key date.

mintmark is located above quarter dollar and below the wreath where the eagle is on the reverse.

D for denver, S for san fransisco, and if there is nothing its a Philadelphia. most likely a philly cause you live there(and indeed in pittsburgh where i am from the vast majority of coins are philly that I see)

I'd have to pull them out of their safe spot for mint details. 1946 and 1964.

if the 1946 has a D or and S they are fairly low mintage. D is 9 million and S is 4 million.

not sure if thats low enough to carry a significant special premium.

I'm not really concerned about their current monetary value.
