The one thing that annoyed me about The Mist ending is that when the car ran out of gas they were so quick to jump on the, "lets just kill ourselves cause there's no hope" Seemed like they were pretty determined to stay alive as long as possible before that so I find it hard to believe they would just totally give up right then instead of exploring more possibilities. They weren't really in imminent danger right at that point yet. They were just stranded in the car. It just rings false to me. I do like the concept of that ending though. They could hear what they thought was another creature. My biggest "god damn it" moment came when I realized that if they didn't go back for Mom, they wouldn't have run out of gas before seeing the military peeps. you're both completely forgetting what Mother Carmody was saying. That the only way to rid the world of the Mist was through a blood sacrifice, or expiation. Funny how there was no hope, nor military until the kid gets killed.... maybe Mother Carmody was right all along. THAT'S what makes the ending so brilliant. Oh yeah, that's actually a pretty good point. It's been awhile since I've watched it.
