This is my first time seriously taking a benzo (lorazapam aka Ativan).

Everything is... Okay. I don't care. I'm fine. Slightly tired and my eyes are heavy, but I think I can behave somewhat normal.

Easy to see why this can be abused. At first it seems like an easy way through life. My step moms niece had a major Valium addiction. She was a walking zombie for years. Thankfully she kicked the habit.

I'm going to use my other pill for an extreme situation. Knowing it works.

Anyone ever try these things? Anyone ever develop a problem?

inb4 the antidrug crusaders of CE come in to berate you

CE is not a good place to ask about this. The people here are grossly misinformed about drugs. Try the bluelight forums or r/drugs for answers that don't suck

Huh? I thought benzos were supposed to be close to phenibut in effect. But phenibut does anything except numb you into "I don't care" status.

IDK why anyone would want to numb themselves that way even if it meant lowering anxiety. Just not worth it becoming a zombie. And I say that as someone with a SHITLOAD of anxiety.

A close friend was suggested he try them for his anxiety.

He felt good at first. Then he noticed his brain wasn't functioning at the same level as before - he hadn't become outright stupid, but he could feel the difference.

Getting off them was multiple months of hell.

I thought it was obvious I was anti abuse at least. I didn't celebrate it. Just said it works. And wanted to see experiences.

I do phenibut. It definitely takes fear away. It however doesn't numb you. Phenibut engages you, this withdraws you. But both are great for anxiety.

And yeah I agree. Its stupid abusing this but I can see why people do unfortunately. It's easier not to worry than worry.

Oh, I know. The reason I actually have these two pills is to help me with withdrawals off something else lol. I learned my lesson. Plus, this isn't for me, recreationally. Takes the edge off, but for recreation, I find this boring.

Yep. Benzo withdrawals suck. I don't envy anyone who goes through them. My step cousin was literally blue as she was shaking from a seizure during withdrawals.

I could understand if my life was absolute hell to live through I guess. Despite everything I'm still one of the lucky ones. Some people might wanna numb themselves out of it. Like a slow suicide.

How often do you take phenibut? I don't go more than once per week to avoid withdrawals. And I still get a bit edgey in the next few days so I take fasoracetam to help (it's supposed to do the opposite effect)
Wish I could take it more often though

Not just the physical effects, but the mental effects too. At least that was his case because he has other mental disorders, including depression.

One time time had crashed at my place and, waking up the next day, he told me he couldn't get into his car and go home for a while because he was absolutely 100% certain he was going to die. Not from driving - just, his time was up and something was going to happen that would do him in. Freaky shit.

i was on klonopin for a number of months to deal mainly with social anxiety a few years ago. for me it was important to put myself in situations that would typically give me anxiety while on them so i could desensitize myself from any threats perceived in those situations. being able to expose myself to those situations while on klonopin reconditioned me to not have an abnormal stress response to social situations and public places.

after a few months of doing this i consulted my doctor and began stepping down my dosage until i was completely off the medication. for benzos it's important to make sure you don't quit them abruptly if you take them daily. doing so can actually be deadly.

benzodiazepines in general are not a long term solution in my opinion. this is because if taken regularly they lose their effectiveness and tolerance builds quickly, requiring increasing dosages. i recommend you look into the half life of your medicine. i found that due to the long half life of klonopin it was able to have a lasting effect throughout the day. the shorter the half life, the more of a relief of burst you will feel with benzodiazepines and the more likely you will feel the need to re-up to get a "fix" or become addicted. people taking benzodiazepines with shorter half lifes also end up experiencing far more dangerous and painful withdraws.

all that said, if used responsibly and in conjunction with your doctor and preferably a counselor/psychologist etc they can be a very useful tool. as a result of my willingness to try medication i no longer have to take them and do not experience irrational/extreme social anxiety.
