He's asking if he should get an S which only supports 4k Blu-ray's and streaming or if he should bother getting an X for the poor mans 4k gaming experience.

Basically he's asking if the X is worth it. Which really isn't something we can answer for you. If you have the money and graphics are really important to you then go X, if not, save money and get the S and wait for a next gen console.

Well Id say 4K TVs are more likely to get cheaper with time than the 1x so Id probably buy the Xbox first and let the TVs drop in price

Well how does the TV look to you? Put on some 4k and decide if you think it's good enough or not.
Sucks that you probably won't have HDR support, but if the TV is good enough I'd wait until 4K OLED's with HDR come down and you can afford one.

Yeah that's P series was very well received. If you can hold out until spring though the new models are coming and I've heard a few places saying they expect the MSRP's to stay the same.

I don't understand how a 4K game can look "great" when none of them can play above 30 FPS on the XB.

1080p at 60 FPS is a far better gaming experience.
