I liked it.
I do think he was trying too hard to be King and not be himself. Which is weird because heart shaped box and Horns are both good and not much like his father.

it definitely reeked like a king book towards the end there.

so much pointless exposition and detailing that there were a few pages i skipped entirely, which is exactly what i started doing with king books before i stopped reading them altogether.

i loved heart shaped box, and i really liked nos4a2, too. they felt like him and not his dad.

See I love King's story building.. but he has a style that works for him if you're a fan. It seems easy because he makes it read easy, but I don't think many can pull it off, and I don't think Hill is on the list.
So it suffers.

Still I thought this book was def readable, but not anywhere near his best.

it's decent, i'll give it that.

some stuff i don't think had to be necessary, like the just constant goddamn suffering
