We need it because we may need to fight the government some day. At the very least having is a deterrent from the government. The government has military drones, long range missiles, smart bombs, fighter planes, etc. your AR-15 wouldnt do much good then. We have all of this and we still can't beat a bunch of insurgents with cheap rifles, IEDs and trucks. Almost like infantry has been and always shall be a vast majority of warfare. Its hard to beat an enemy that dresses like civilians, so you cant tell whos a terrorist. --- Fall down, go boom... Life is like a box of chocolates.
