Surprised there's no topic about this. For us Americans, where they're playing it on primetime (aka right now)...

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's sister:

That opening was beautiful. I loved all the animals they did. TIL too, that South Korea lore is super close to Chinese lore. That Byakko, Genbu, Seiryuu and Suzaku thing. And the Yinyang. And the clothes.

so how's nbc operating this. They gonna air things live at whatever weird time that may be for America, or are they gonna air stuff primetime for us and hope people don't just look up what happened?

If I remember my history correctly, "Korea" was part of "China" until modern times.

NBC shows every sporting event live on the NBC Olympics website. The popular events will be shown on a time delay for TV.

NBC shows every sporting event live on the NBC Olympics website. The popular events will be shown on a time delay for TV.

That's what I was telling my mother. Japan was invading that region of China still pretty recently. The Koreas are still newer, but I dunno. I just assumed they have a different lore. I just don't get why I wouldn't have picked it up until this to realize they'd have adapted.

for most of china's history it was way smaller than it is today and yes, at many different times it was a bunch of various kingdoms fighting each other. the most famous of these periods is the Three Kingdoms era that Dynasty Warriors is based on. the full size unified china of today is relevantly recent only. China even today, is made up of a number of different ethnic cultures and languages spoken. the most numerous and the one in power is the Han peoples. but there like 20 or something different minority groups inside China. basically closer to modern times, the whole area was finally conquered under one ruler and they made the minorities bow down to them.

God, the Olympics never ceases to amaze me. The level of unity that can be brought together for these games. To see North and South Korea united, it's kind of blissful but painful all at once. It's powerful nevertheless.
