I tried to pull my covers up to my chin the other morning but my hand slipped and I punched myself in the mouth. Not a good way to wake yourself up.

I hit myself so hard I gave myself a fat lip. (I'm extremely clumsy...the only black eye I've ever had I gave to myself). The next day I started to get a strange sensation in my tooth. An itching type feeling that comes and goes. It isn't sensitive to hot or cold. Just a weird feeling.

If it keeps going on I guess I'll have to go to the dentist. I don't want it to get pulled and look like a meth addict until they replace it or crown it. The sensation isn't as strong today though.

The weird sensation may be related to sustaining nerve damage after the punch. You could just have inflamed nerves, blood vessels, or gum tissue. Or it could be an infection.

Some people who grind their teeth report a similar sensation.

Either way, hopefully it's not serious and it goes away. Good luck!
