He's applied for the Police Academy and says with all that's going on, he has made up his mind and wants to make a difference.



How would you react?

Curious considering CE's attitude towards cops. Not many with cops in house have spoken up.

Ask him why he wants to enforce unjust laws on behalf of a corrupt state.

I'd tell him that he better not fall in with the corrupt crowd. that if he wants to make a difference should clean house of his new department and fight the inner corruption of his fellow officers.

Id tell him about the extreme, unjustified hate hes going to get from lefties and make sure he knows what hes getting into. If he sill wants to do it, I tell him how proud of him I am.

You can join the academy at 18.

Or he could go to Europe or Canada.

It depends on the state. In CA the earliest you can join the academy is 20 and 6 months because you have to be 21 to own a handgun.

Just randomly going to Europe or Canada to apply wouldn't result in employment.

Im sure he could apply in another state, I believe Arizona is 18 to apply but in my experience police departments want to see experience both working and life before hiring people and I doubt he gets in.

Telling a new cop to start fighting with the corrupt cops is an easy way to get your son killed. Besides, corrupt cops earn far more money.

as a black cop he would get hate from all sides. some of his fellow cops will secretly loath him. liberals will see him as a sell out. conservatives will not see him as a "real cop".

So it would be 11 years from now....if people are still killing cops like its nothing and treating them like scum then I definitely wouldnt allow him. If the country goes back to normal and people are treating others with respect then I wouldnt mind one bit.

I'd warn him of the risks but if he still wanted to do it I'd be proud of him and do what I can to help him succeed.

True. The 90s were much more dangerous, and police deaths have trended down for years now.

People are just more vocal, so everything seems amplified.

My friends have been caught smoking marijuana so many times and have just been let off without even a warning every time. Cops enforce the bottom line. They have a lot of power to transform the law.
