No, but I once saw a novelization of the actual Gameboy games in a Kids R Us store many years ago. It even had screenshots from the games to illustrate what was happening in the story. I always wished I had bought it then, since I never saw or heard of it again.

I think I was 13 when Pokemon came out and I didn't play the first game until I was like 16. Feel so old.
