Met the diabetes nurse, and my Hba1C is in the normals now thanks to Metformin. It was barely over the limit last time.

So I don't need to check my blood sugar, but since everyone that gets that diagnosis has a right to get one of these for free along with free needles and test sticks etc with it for free I don't mind it. This one you can connect to an app on the phone and some more stuff with etc.

I will use it tho, just to learn more on what and how things would affect my blood sugar, like after drinking etc. Can help with the motivation to eat better and stuff.

It definitely helps with motivation to eat better. I recently saw that my blood sugar was 150 and have really cut back carbs since then because I don't want to become insulin dependent at 30 (or even have to rely on pills that will be insanely expensive once i actually graduate from college and get a job). CBD (cannabidiol) also really helps to increase insulin sensitivity, so I've been doing that along with some exercise.

Do you mean you get them free forever? Or is it just like a starter pack

Too bad it's so illegal here.

In Sweden you pay for the insulin and other medication, but you don't pay for the blood sugar checker or needles or anything like that. And with the prescription medication, once you reach $300 in a year most of the prescription medication is free until the day of the first purchase, then it restarts again.
