...as compared to other genres like First-Person Shooters and MOBAs.

I personally think that the reason why Fighting Games (and other genres such as Japanese-style console RPGs) have a broader appeal to different races than other genres of games is because they are primarily created by an "outside culture".

Most First-Person shooters, MOBAs, MMORPGs, and strategy games are created by Western developers. These games are usually created with their base demographic (white people) in mind. Thus white people would feel more at home with these games because it resonates with their culture.

However, most Fighting games and RPGs are developed by the Japanese studios. The Japanese culture can be considered an "outside culture" in places like America and Europe. Minorities like blacks and Asians usually find themselves "outsiders" in Western countries. Because of this, they can find it easier to relate to outsider cultures like Japanese and Asian cultures rather than Western culture. Thus, Blacks and Asians would favor Japanese and other Asian games.

It's kind of hard to explain, but the theme behind my explanation is that choice of games revolves around culture.

Do you guys agree or not?

I can't really say I'd agree, considering just how popular those aforementioned MOBA, MMORPG, and strategy games are in Korea
