Board 8 > Forgive my bad Google Fu - Need help remembering a game

It's been awhile, but I need some memory jogging again.

When I was a kid, there was a Windows or DOS game I used to play (around the 95 era) where you play as a guy who gets sucked into his computer and has to defend himself against enemy robots and such.

It all takes place in an environment like a motherboard, lots of solid colors, and the thing I remember most strongly (partially because, as a kid, it took me ages to figure out that I could even do this) is that the "Shoot" button is Z.

I think the game might not have been very good, either, but that could just be my childlike lack of skill and frustration when playing with a keyboard showing.

Thanks in advance, I've tried googling for it but "Windows 95 Platform Games", even with other modifiers, isn't helping.

Side scrolling - minus the scrolling. You reached the edge of the screen and would transition to the next one.

Minimal UI

EDIT: Also the main character looked like a minimalist version of a generic astronaut-style robot, with the visor.

Almost fit, but it doesn't have the "motherboard environment" qualification. Thank you anyways, though.

Was it the actual game? I remember whatever copy I had was just the first level and then a pop up would come up telling you to mail money somewhere to get the full game. I think it came from one of those "1,000+ games!" CDs.

Dang I knew he got sucked into a computer during the opening intro animation.

Microman has a good soundtrack from what I just watched.

I didn't realize that there was a second game, in all honesty.

Or that there was supposed to be a third one but it never happened.

I'm actually a little bit sad that the story, as little as it was, never came to a close.

One thing I distinctly remember about this game is that there's a bottomless pit that just keeps scrolling forever. You have to reset the game if you fall down it
