2016, got the N3DS SM3DL bundle. It's a wonderful device and I still take it with me over the Switch most of the time.

I have no good explanation for why I waited until last year to get one.

Found one at a game store I had a bunch of trade-in credit at, mint condition old XL model. Ended up spending $40 on it.

I actually cheated a bit. Walmart happened to drop their 3DS prices a week before schedule back in 2011, and I took advantage of that to get both the ambassador titles and the price cut.

December 2011. I got the Flame Red model, which unfortunately was too late for the Ambassador stuff.

Despite the wear and tear over the years, as well as having its battery replaced, it served me very well until I replaced it with a black New 3DS (the smaller model) in late 2016.

I had a black 3DSXL that I don't remember where or when I acquired (guessing 2014), and then my brother went to the US and brought me a galaxy-style N3DSXL, which I think was in late 2016. If I hadn't gotten that one, I'd have waited for a N2DSXL, those things look really pretty.

11 or 12. don't really remember but probably 11 after the price cut.

When MH4U released. Still the only game I own for the system. Nintendo games' prices goes down the slowest and sometimes higher so even used ones are still pretty expensive, at least to my eyes. I'll build up my library once I'm in a better financial situation.

I don't remember. I want to say I got it for Christmas or my birthday one year. I didn't know about the ambassador thing until years later, but it turned out I had it on mine so that was a nice surprise. It's on my New 3ds XL (or whatever it's called) now.

Got it at launch for resident evil revelations so 2011. 2 years later got an XL for Pokemon XY. Never upgraded past that.
