spiderman 2 was decent. spiderman 1 was shit because Green Goblin looked like a power ranger character. the director claims he is in love with 60's spiderman but at the same time, he makes green goblin like that..... I will never understand

spiderman 3 was horrible but this time it wasn't the director's fault. sony ruined it by poking their fingers into the pot

Yea, to me he was by far the best representation of Parker. Reminded me so much of the 90's cartoon Parker.

No, it was the director's fault. Raimi was the one who fucked up Venom and made the narrative a mess with so many unnecessary subplots. All Sony asked for was Venom, which made sense as Venom was the most requested villain. Raimi dropped the ball.

Raimi already set up Harry as a villain for SM3. Forcing Venom into that plot was always a dumb decision. Spider-man movies had no issues getting an audience.

Tobey got worse and worse with each entry. Garfield was fucking awful as Peter. He was okay as Spidey but he didn't really have the voice/attitude for it.

I like Spider-man Homecoming.

But Peter Parker starting out with personal connections to Tony Stark, getting an 'internship' at his company (that covers his secret life) and being handed a bunch of gadgets just doesn't really feel as relatable as Spider-man usually is. I guess it's unavoidable with how they introduced him into the MCU.

"Should have waited" lol the movie industry is all about making money; venom was important for the film's commercial success so there was no reason for sony to wait. given that spiderman 2 was less successful than spiderman 1 it was only natural sony would want to maximize on spiderman 3's chances of commercial success

raimi could have done venom right in spiderman 3, but he dropped the ball by miscasting topher grace, amongst other things. sandman shouldn't have been in the movie; should have just been venom and new goblin

that's a very rude way to look at it considering the original idea was to just have Sandman. Venom and New Goblin were the intruders, not Sandman. sometimes I dream about what that movie would have been like with just Sandman, I have a feeling it would been pretty damn good. and they would have made Spiderman 4. supposedly with Vulture. I think putting Vulture in Homecoming was probably Sony's idea that they talked Marvel into doing, just to piss off Raimi.

btw the series up to that point was supposed to celebrate classic Spidy. As in the 60's. Raimi hates the newer villains like Venom. he only wanted to do a series of movies about each of the early classic villains. it's no surprise that the moment thye fucked up that plan, the series died

lmao no one gave a fuck about sandman. the movie needed a well known villain to be successful; venom was the best pick. new goblin also made sense, since it was built up since the first movie.

but sandman was just unnecessary

what the audience wanted was more important than what one entitled director wanted.

if raimi wasn't full of himself, he would have been able to do venom properly.

Multiple villains and plots in a movie can work if done right. For an example, The Dark Knight.

Not hard to come up with a plot where Venom and New Goblin are seamlessly connected.

Harvey Dent was Bruce Wayne's personal villain. Joker was Batman. On top of this they tied both of those plots together.

Those are villains that complimented each other well.

Having a plot where Harry creates a symbiote and manipulates Eddie Brock or something sounds lame.

Spider-Man works best when there's an awareness of the greater Marvel Universe. It's why the TAS was the best when motherfuckers from outside Spidy's "sphere of influence" started popping up.

Homecoming, while probably one of the weakest MCU movies, was way better than the previous 5 movies by a long shot.

Didn't he also get him fired as Peter?

That was why Eddie hated him so much. He hates both Peter and Spider-man. Then he gets the symbiote and finds out that it's the same person. Which makes him hate Peter even more.
