masticatingman 01/29/18 8:13:25 PM #2:	Most of the Beatles early and middle output makes cohesive sense. Tracks like Norwegian Wood stand out for being more out there lyrically. Vertania 01/29/18 8:41:46 PM #10:	I'm okay with that. Both are among my top 5 favorite bands. SoaD was miles above any other "Nu Metal/Alt Metal" bands of the era imo. Compared to stuff like Disturbed, GodSmack, Mudvayne, Slipknot, etc., they had a hell of a lot more variety and originality in their songwriting. Them not evolving like The Beatles is a pretty fair point, but there's very few bands (if any) that could match that. In a way, their evolution was Serj and Daron growing into their own individual songwriting styles. With Mesmerize & Hypnotize, you could kind of tell which were "Daron songs" and which were "Serj songs." SoaD had some lame costumes/make-up in the beginning to lol. The problem I had with Mudvayne and the other bands was the lack of variety. I loved a few songs, but after a while, they all just seemed like screaming and angsty lyrics.
