Just finished watching season 1.

I feel like their strategy in this show is to keep advancing the plot with as many twists as possible to avoid the fact that they have no story, nowhere to go with it, and that everything is full of holes.

Just leave all the shit plot in the past as you make as many new twists and turns as possible each week.

They were writing towards a very particular point with the first season.

Season 2 picks up a lot after a few episodes in.

It's a lot less rushing around with dramatic plot twists and the characters staring at the screen to gasp through the 4th wall.

It's been much more stable and enjoyable.

Idk I thought S1 really built up to the 'twist' well. S2 is also great but it feels a lot more ad hoc on a week to week basis

I don't even know what twists you're talking about in season 1other than the one at the very end, which I thought was well done. The rest of the season felt like a fairly typical sitcom, except it's set in the afterlife.

My wife and I love this show, it's no award winner or anything, but it's definitely enjoyable...

But a sitcom is a sitcom, not exactly sure what you expected...
