Buried, unless god forbid I die in a fire in which case I've told my family to finish the job and cremate me.

I know this is going to sound odd since I'm only 35 but I've been saving money to buy a plot. Our cemetery in an old one. It's up on a huge hill and has ascending levels. They've recently opened the final top area after decades. Trees, beautiful views. The desert on one side, the mountain peaks right above us on the other. On a typical clear day you can see the western mountains that border Joshua Tree National Park about 45 miles away. Well at the very bottom at street level they've cleared all the old trees down there that lined the cemetery roads and hid these two giant empty dirt fields next to the city's giant water tanks. So it's all naked and right there at the bottom in view of the street. It's hideous. So I want to buy a plot in the top section before it fills up and I end up being stuck by the road. Yeah I know I'll be dead but still.

And I want to pick a plot that has people already around it so I can see who my eternal neighbors are. Because I do not want my relatives going up to see me if they even do and have to contend with some tacky giant monument that's 3 feet tall, covered completely front and back in stupid quotes, sports team logos, stickers and a big ugly picture of the deceased being next door. And forget family, I also don't want to be next to that.

Yes I have issues and I'm being very particular about it. But it bothers me that I may get stuck near the road and/or next to one of those things.

I don't actually care what happens to me after I die, but my order of preference is

Sent on a rocket out of the solar system.
Viking funeral
Cremated

I don't want a burial. Mostly just because of the extremely slim chance that I'd somehow get buried alive.

I couldn't care less since I'll be dead. I voted burial, but wouldn't be mad if my family just cremated me instead.

Ideally? I'd like a Viking funeral. Realistically? Probably cremated. I don't really care.
