Mid 2019 can not come soon enough. As soon as Uber deploys their self-driving cars, I'm getting rid of my car. It's looking like it won't even be this one.

And frankly I don't even know if I'll have the heart to sell it. I've been wanting to light this fucker on fire and push it off a cliff for years.

I just google maps'd it, and the quickest route to the nearest bus stop is 4.4 miles, 1hr 31min. Which is actually closer than I was expecting.

And the trip via bus from that bus stop to work is 1hr 59min.

So we're talking 5 hours of commute daily.

I mean what do you do?

If you buy new, you're wasting tens of thousands.
If you buy used from a private seller, you're gonna get a faulty car.
If you buy used from a dealership, you're gonna get ripped off to hell and back and also probably get a faulty car.

And no matter what you buy, it will break down, the mechanic will ask you if you know what a gerspeldeharmen is, realize you know nothing, charge you triple, not fix it, and we're back here again.

it's all good, i just hate the times when they run out of seats :(. i'm going to have to go to the next town at some point if i want some somewhat rare food (ie stuff not found in the safeway) i wanted to go friday but i had other things to do.

Cars 2 is the worst of the three but the third one isn't that great either. The first one is good.

Yeah I have a feeling you're one of those dudes that runs 40k miles on the same oil. Cars aren't hard, basic maintenance schedule and you're good for the most part.

This car never went 5k on one oil change. It had a meter on it that told me when to change it, which I obeyed. Usually came to about 5k.

The Toyota I can't comment on, since we bought it used. We never missed a 3k change since we owned it though. Not by more than a few hundred, at least.
