Thats idiotic. Theres no reason to arbitrarily lock up items that dont have a significant theft history. Its an unnecessary cost being trust on the stores that serves no purpose other than to appease irrational SJWs.

If haircare products have significant theft history, lock up haircare products. Just not specifically the black ones.

If Walmart has to pay an extra cost to not discriminate, make em pay it. The Walton family is worth over 90 billion dollars, they can take the hit.

What would you suggest if only the black hair care products are being stolen?

Locking up every single one at every wal mart would cost an arm and a leg and be unnecessary....

Hire an extra security guard

And he'd keep an eye on the black hair care products? Sounds pretty racist mate

No, keep an eye on everything. Stop focusing on the black people products

Well that wouldn't be very effective would it?

Hire a security guard to patrol around the entire store with a high chance most of the time he isn't in the black hair product isle.

Do you think that would be more effective than locking up the black hair care products? Keep in mind if the security guard stuck around an isle where things were frequently being shoplifted that'd be racist too.

If you want to address how people are racially profiled by LP (and yes, that is racist), we can talk about that separately from the issue of high theft items being locked up.

1) You don't know that. White people could be stealing them to resell at flea markets.

2) One is based on the fact that the product is being stolen at a higher rate than other products. Hell, it's pretty racist that you automatically assume black people are the only ones stealing it.

Grundy, a mother of five, also said she was not allowed to touch the lotion she wanted to buy until she purchased it, accompanied by an employee to the register.

I work at another retail/drugstore, we dont have African American products locked up.

But for any locked items we say Because its a locked item it has to be taken directly to the register, did you want to take a closer look at the information on the item? Usually the person will say no its ok and that theyre still shopping around. If they want to read over the info then we hand it to them and stand there in the meantime.

The only bath/hair/beauty products we have locked up are
- Head & Shoulders
- Dove/Olay body wash
- medicated hair loss shampoo
- perfume/cologne
- electric hair straighteners/hair dryers
- and fake eyebrows

For the rest of the bath/hair/beauty we put security stickers on the packaging. Stuff still gets stolen anyways and the store a loses a little over a thousand each day but were still open because the pharmacy is raking in cash.

I dated a Walmart manager(who was black).

She told me the 3 most commonly stolen items in Walmart are:

Black hair care products
Laundry detergent
Baby formula

So is it racist? In a sense, yes. Is it also sometimes necessary? Yes.

It's not every Walmart that does it either. Only the ones in predominantly black neighborhoods, which is another level of sad cringe.

As someone with kids, I can understand baby formula being commonly stolen. That shit is expensive. No wonder they have cameras right over your should in that aisle.

Actually, it's most often stolen to be resold on black market.

Hey why the market gotta be black???

All the stores, huh? You've been to literally every store in the country and none of them lock up textured hair products?

Now I know this is just a gimmick. Good show.

How would you feel if every store you walked into had your products in locked cases, while identical products for all other people were out in the aisles? Being treated as a potential thief just because of the color of your skin.

I would do what every normal person would do. Ask the associate to grab me the item I want and then pay for it. Stores lock items up if they're stolen a lot. I know it's hard for you to understand that, but please try to.

You just assume stores get stolen from. I doubt it. Stealing is wrong

Ok, so you're just trolling. Carry on.

It sounds like she didnt understand exactly why theyre locked up. If they have a higher rate of theft than anything else in the store, its not racist. People are just focusing too much on the fact that these products are marketed towards black people.

Locking something up that has a high rate of theft is not racist. Its not racist to lock up alcohol. Its not racist to lock up infant formula. Its not racist to lock up electronics. Its not racist to lock up cosmetics. And its not racist to lock up hair products, regardless of who theyre marketed at.

So, spend money for the purpose of reducing theft, to not actually do stuff that doesn't reduce theft?

"This stuff really isn't stolen all that much, but we better pretend it is and waste money monitoring/protecting it so SJWs don't cry racism." is the only thing that will satisfy Darklit

If you put the black people products in the same aisle as the white people products, you can have a guard monitor that aisle without it being racist. Seriously, this isn't a very difficult concept.
