I read at least (occasionally more than) once a year. While I loved Peter Jackson's early work, his adaptations of the LotR saga does fuck all for me. Which is fine because even though I enjoyed the books when I was a kid, I tried to reread them as a teenager right as the movies came out and found them lacking. Did you ever see the Rankin and Bass animated version of The Hobbit? A couple times as a kid. I enjoyed it well enough. It reminded me of the animated version of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. No idea if they're related, but I associate them with each other.
