Nice lighthearted game with a disturbing twist here and there. Severely lacking in quantity of graphics (your own characters don't appear in battle screen at all, and the enemies don't even move), but lots of charm and good humor.

What's there is good but it feels like a lot is missing.

The game's atmosphere and tone are really unique. Not one of my favorites, though. It just doesn't reach the highest highs imo, and there's a lot of tedium involved. I prefer Mother 3.

Great idea, interesting setting and tone. Actually playing it is... Not great. I've played it numerous times and can never bring myself to beat it because I just get so sick of playing it.

Played all the Mother games late last year. Earthbound was probably my favorite, with Mother 3 coming in a close second.

The original isn't very good IMO
