Bidder one messaged me that hed like to cancel his bids because hes not going to pay for the item as he bought the item elsewhere and he says he found me another bidder.

To not cause a problem I accept his request to cancel the bid (I mean, if he says hes not gonna pay, why bother?).

So his bids get cancelled and the item drops from $650 to $500 and the auction ends.

I sent a message to the other bidder about it and he responds saying he knows the other bidder was going to cancel after talking with him on a local buying service.

Why hed admit that is beyond me but I cancelled the order because the first bidder had bid it up and then found this other guy to not compete with so requesting to cancel his bid was to help the other guy.

They both are bitching at me and the winner left negative feedback (that also included blatant false info).

I dont really care about the difference in value, I still would make money on the auction but I dont want to ship to someone that clearl manipulsted the system.

When I responded the guy went off saying Im in the wrong for not fulfilling my seller obligation. I swear Ive read their terms saying you cant knowingly affect bidding.

Sounds like they colluded behind the scenes. And we're too stupid not to admit it. When my $500 was now 'suddenly' the winner and then seller 'informed' me of what happened, my response would have been "Cool", and noting more.

Thats what I was thinking but the winner is like, Its not against eBay terms to know someone else bidding and the other person changing their mind to cancel a bid that you accepted the request.

So he thinks he got one over on me and threatened negative feedback (which he then left). Im not a huge seller but I think eBay takes off bs feedback like this, but now that he went off telling me what they did and why he thinks its ok...I kinda hope they get banned (guy has like a 10yr old account).
