offensive, to the point of holding beliefs I wholly disagree with, but they will actually help me when I need it.

Some of the most outspoken moralists I see online never help me, check in on my well-being, etc.

I guess that being a good person is more of a performance than a lifestyle for a lot of people.

Have you interacted with outspoken moralists in person though to differentiate if whether the effect you are seeing is due to anonymity or distance of online communication versus their political correctedness?
