Seconding Dead Cells. I just started playing it and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's similar to Rogue Legacy but heavier focus on combat and less on platforming.

Still early access, though. Fun enough now, but itd be better to wait.

Like I said,look past the early access for it. It's one of the best gaming experiences you'll find right now, and it's current state can easily offer dark souls levels of gameplay and replay value.

So I'm guessing you never got to fight Grimm of Nightmare King? The latter is by far the hardest part of the game, making the Trial of Fools look easy.

Well Hollow Knight has gameplay and expects quite a bit of interaction from the player, so your average tumblrina can't pick it up and be successful at it.

Undertale is also a really great game. You should try to see it for what it is, memes aside.

It's an Earthbound rip-off that looks like it was made in RPG Maker, and its "depth" is trying to be emotionally manipulative and make you feel bad about killing fake video game characters for your own amusement. Ignoring that twist, the game is juvenile and is clearly meant for kids.

I think thats fair for the most part. But it is wonderfully creative, and Ive had to curb my old man hostility for the most part because its mostly just a reaction to the fandom not recognizing that its all been done before.
