I'm at level 23 and dealing with the quests that match that, so that's what sort of spoiler level to expect here.

Just finished fighting the weird dream sequence giant snake. It wasn't as difficult as the Hyena boss, IMO. Still, I wasn't really expecting any sort of boss battles from this game, and it's neat how they've come up with clever ones as a change of pace from just sneaking behind people and assassinating them.

There's legit boss battles instead of hardier enemies? Wow, I honestly didn't expect that from an Assassin's Creed game. I really want to play Origins but I'm a stickler for playing the series in order. I'm stuck on Unity right now (not legit stuck but I haven't had the motivation to play it).

The trials of the gods were all pretty fun fights, too. I know they had plans to rerun them but they should've just been added to the game tbh.

Haven't gotten that far yet. Isn't one being re-run now?

Dunno, I did them during the original run, got the outfit, then quit playing soon after since I'd already finished the story and a good chunk of content by then.

Wait, there are levels in Assassin's Creed now?

He means RPG levels. Your character has RPG stat growth in Origins.

Yeah, they went heavy on RPG elements for Origins. Experience, gear, boss battles...

That's what I mean. I've played several of the other games. That must be a new feature.

I need to play this now.

it's not a great feature tbh. It's used to artificially restrict how much you can explore. There are areas where the enemies literally just have a red skull icon above their heads, and that means they're strong enough to one shot you, and you can't do any damage to them. Steer clear of those areas.

I hadn't considered this view before. Personally, I think restricting your freedom to explore isn't necessarily a bad thing here. There's something to be said for avoiding the mission overload that comes with opening up the whole map at once. It streamlines the experience, so you always have a good idea of where to go and what you should be doing at a given time.

The RPG and crafting elements in this game are sick AF. So far this game is looking better than Black Flag (the last one I played) by a mile.

It has the best character since Ezio. Hell, Bayek is actually my favorite now.

didnt the games sort of always do this? i vividly remember in AssCreed 1 that you couldn't unlock certain sections of the cities until you got to a certain part in the story.

Ugh, microtransactions. Guess I'm not going for 100% in this one.

They're not that bad. Anything they sell in the shop is also buyable in-game via Heka crates (at terrible odds, of course) or random world drop for weapons.
