People on CE are using social media but for whatever reason have rejected more conventional forms of social media - and like most things - have adopted a curious elitism about it.

Some have the excuse of their jobs. If you have a corporate job you gotta be careful of posting on Facebook or Twitter. Plenty of people have been fired for a post or pic that their employer caught wind of and didnt like.

It's the anonymous nature of forums that I like, compared to things like Snapchat or Facebook. I don't feel comfortable posting about things on those platforms, but I do on gamefaqs or Reddit. I feel no elitism about it though. I'm quite aware it's a me issue regarding feeling uncomfortable. I don't like being in the spotlight
