I don't know if most of you follow it that much but this week the victims have all been allowed to provide their own victim statements during the sentencing procedure of Nassar's criminal case. He has been found guilty and they are just determining sentencing at this point but there have been almost 100 girls that have testified so far. Some of them are former medalists, today Aly Raisman spoke.

He had abused them for over 30 years and was kept there for a long time even after allegations came out. Both MSU and USAG received complaints and didn't change anything or look into it much at all. USAG has turned over at the top and is now distancing themselves from some of the major players but its taken until this week.

Today Raisman went after the USAG and the US Olympic Committee. She attacked the leadership and boards and sounds like she is just pointing everything to them. Calling them out for how they celebrate the gymnastics success and made money on them for years while actively hiding the allegations against Nassar. They really deserve a lot of blame.

As a straight guy that coached gymnastics for a few years the story probably hits closer to home than most but its pretty crazy even if you have no involvement in the sport. The best people in the sport were consistently put in front of a man that was a known abuser. They couldn't avoid it, couldn't' speak up, and in some cases were actively encouraged to go to him. The whole culture is about being tough and not complaining. And then when real allegations were coming out the highest ups paid people off to stay quiet without getting rid of the guy. Its stupid and crazy and the organization is going to take a hit from all this pretty hard.

And he, nassar, wrote a letter to the judge asking that he not have to be in court to hear victim statements because it was emotionally to hard on him!!! What the heck!!! The judge said "to bad"!!!

This is so unbelievable.

Yeah, pretty much this. On Friday the board of trustees at MSU voted to keep the current president in place. She had been there the last few years when some of this was all coming out but didn't do anything in charge.

I think he will end up killing himself in prison. The fact that he wrote that letter shows how out of touch he is and is just trying to continue to ignore what he has done but still has feelings and didn't want to face the reality of what he did. He just got almost 40 hours of it and its got to hit home at some point.

It seems that there had been complaints against him on and off for a number of years that were ignored or hid. It took one of the girls, being consistent, to talk to others when found that it was hundreds of girls.

One if the girls on an Olympic team said she had been in a plane when he gave her something to help her sleep because of jet lag. She woke up hours later in his hotel room laying on her stomach receiving another "treatment".

One coach was also allowed to give a victim statement as he had referred hundreds of his clients to nassar for treatment. The judge let him speak.

The judge said he would never be free.

Thanks Darkman -- I don't remember all of the names but because of where I live we are getting overload of this on the news so there is a lot coming in on it here.

It's sad. I keep thinking that if I ever were to have a daughter on some sort of a sports thing there is no way I would ever let her be seen alone with a physician. But this could have been easily prevented had there have been a female in with Naser anytime any type of treatment was given. Maybe this should be for any physician, male or female -- no treatment or procedures unless there are two other people present.

As a female I have had a male doc examine me once and there was also a female nurse or MA in the room for breast exam and pelvic exam. While uncomfortable with just having the exam I did not in any way feel something wasn't right. I have a female pcp, and even then during pelvic exam there was a nurse/MA in the room assisting. Recently I was in the hospital with pneumonia and during one procedure the tech had to position my breasts in order to get the x-ray, and there was also another person in the room. It only took about a second. It took him longer to explain what he needed to do than it took for him to actually do it. I had an exam gown on as well. Still my privacy was well maintained.

so the idea that Nasar got away with this for so long is just unbelievable. I understand that these girls were young and were probably told that they needed to do as the doctor said and all, but geeze I would have hoped that someone was watching them, a coach or just someone. It seemed like other adults that worked with Nasar must have questioned that he was doing these things unsupervised.
