I dont know what this is but let me call up my buddy whose an expert on turn of the century thumbtacks and hell go into a 5 minute perfect explanation of the entire history

They honestly want us to believe that you could take a lost Rembrandt into any Michaels and the experts there will explain exactly what it is.

Theyre in a building with matching paraphernalia. They HAVE to know everything about it.

Well, if you got a pawn shop then you pretty much must have somebody with the correct knowledge working for you or you must know some people that have that knowledge, otherwise you will lose money.

Unless you are Les Gold, he checks ebay instead.

I feel like this is false because I imagine most pawn shops aren't getting rare memorabilia, they're getting random shit like old PS2 games, Nokia phones, 2005 laptops with twenty-five Internet Explorer toolbars, etc.

If people need fast cash, then they dont put up their stuff where they will get more money simply because it will take longer to get that money.
That said, it also depends on where the pawnshop is located.
Les Gold is in Detroid, and most of the stuff he gets are jewelry, electronic and cars.
Rick Harrison is in Las Vegas where people can dump anything of value just to get a rush at a casino.
And we always got the group of oeople that bring something just to get a chance of being on television.
