Or in Nintendo's case, doing that half the time, the other half sticking crayons up their nose. Like, if you look at the GameCube controller, it's basically trying to be a PS controller without being sued. I actually liked having different sized face buttons, but it had the flaw of missing two whole buttons and having the sticks asymmetrical, and that dinky little d-pad... Fast forward to the pro controller, and it's...okay. Between it and Microsoft's controllers, there's not huge deviations...but they're just inferior in terms of layout/use of space but I'm not sure they could get away with addressing that without just looking like a dualshock ripoff. I do hate that the pro's right stick is above the face buttons though, because some games, with a run button, you might want to run and move the camera as you run. It's not too awkward to do that by using your pointer/index finger to hold the run button, and keep moving the right stick to look around with your thumb. By having the right stick above the face buttons, you can't do that. You'd have to manipulate the stick with pointer/index finger instead, which is just not going to have the same level of control and comfort. I've actually been trying to think of like, one advantage to the right stick position, and came up with nadda. I just wish I could play everything with a PS controller at this point. It's got everything needed, it doesn't waste space, everything is pretty much optimally where it should be. --- I am snazzier, hot, hot rant. Warily slight as. Croak rush, OK? I mean it's basically just a bigger curvier PS controller with the left stick and pad swapped. While I prefer symmetry with the sticks, it's not really inhibiting like the pro's nonsense with the right stick placement and I spent plenty of time with a Gamecube controller just fine which shared the pad/left stick placement.
