There are opposing beliefs in both religions, do they just not aknowledge it?

Of course you can have people of different religions marrying, if they just water the religion down so much that it can mesh with anything. It's such a ludicrous video for anyone who knows anything about what christianity or islam actually are, it plays almost like a parody.

Did you even watch the video? The wife had to convert to Islam. Although Islam doesnt actually forbade a Muslim man from marrying a non-Muslim otherwise.
But well, thats not the point of my topic. Its that they can both live in harmony

most people interpret the religion in ways that work for them.

my family is muslim, and both me and my sister would identify as being muslim (her more than me), and both of use are with white people who are not muslims. she is getting married in june and will have an open bar.

and its not an issue at all for our families.

not all muslims are strict (like followers of any religion). there are good parts and bad parts of all of them, and many do not choose to follow some of the more extreme and oppressive tenets.
