The story goes that a soldiers kid got trampled outside of the place and they brought him in to get fixed up. While they were patching the kid up, his dad paced back and forth in the hallway... The room we stayed in was where he was being fixed up. There was pacing seriously every night outside of our room, like big, heavy boots. There were other incidents, like we had a lamp in the room with little dangling crystal strings around the lampshade. There was no draft at all in out room, but it was like some one took their hand and ran it through the crystals. I was curious because I saw it on a debunking show and immediately knew it was just Sphyngid moths (they fly really fast and in lines, much like hummingbirds, as opposed to awkwardly fluttering like other large lepidopterae). The show concluded the phenomenon was "some kind of nocturnal insect" which was correct but disappointingly nonspecific. The most common offenders in the US are the Carolina Sphynx Moth and Five Spotted Hawk Moth, known more commonly by the names attributed to their caterpillars, the tomato and tobacco hornworms. Both are considered crop pests. I thought it was neat because I'm naturally skeptical and I knew right away what I was looking at. Those moths are pretty badass-looking and the caterpillars are fun to raise and get pretty big. It looked like a large glowing orb, with three smaller glowing orbs rotating in a triangular formation around it. Of course, I blurted out "WOAH! Did anyone else just see that?!" and my friend startled awake and mumbled something like "go back to sleep... mumble mumble...". I wasn't asleep, though. I was wired from watching the game. Anyway, haven't seen anything irl since then, and that's been over 20 years ago. I remember several years after seeing that thing, like maybe 15 years later, I saw something identical to it in literature/artwork. It was a picture someone drew, that was depicting a UFO.
