Coruscant is the commonly accepted one.

IIRC though in-universe people think there's other possibilities like Alderaan, Tython, or others.

It takes place in a galaxy that is far, far away from ours, man.

Not to mention a long time ago

Distinct universe entirely

We know the ancient histories of coruscant/humans in Star Wars and it doesn't match up with our history at all

Is it explained why they are the Dominant Species

I think the ancient history is that humans were the most aggressive species when it came to colonizing the galaxy and spread everywhere, so they are the most numerous.

last i checked the lore, it wasn't known the exact origin planet. humans forgot their origins cause it was so long ago

oh yea, in the EU, I think they forgot cause in ancient times they were taken as slaves by another species and spread out around the galaxy. and that's why they cant remember where they come from

Yeah, I was just reading Wikipedia the other day and apparently in KotOR you learn that

The Tusken Raiders might have been the original humans. They were abducted by the Rakata and spread throughout the universe. They rebelled and Tatooine was bombed into a desert wasteland. That's why the Tuskens shun technology.

Isn't it Earth? What movie did this happen in then (spoilers from I don't know what):

You're in space and on non-Earth planets. Earth was hit by an apocalypse and eventually turned into an authoritarian planet. Somebody or something developed some space technology to get some citizens off before that happened though.

I don't think that has much to do with Star Wars.

Star Wars is supposed to be in another galaxy and a long time ago. So, presumably, it's supposed to happen at a time when humans didn't exist on earth yet (or maybe even before the earth existed)

Either humans in Star Wars are a distinct species that have nothing to do with human humans, or at some point we'll find out that humans find a way to travel to another galaxy (ours) and settle on earth or something.

We can probably find over a dozen movies and TV shows that fits with that.

the only thing that ties Earth to star wars is a novel that was written. I forget the name of it, but it wasnt even canon in the Expanded Universe I don't think. but in it, people in the future travel back in time and to a distant galaxy. and become the first humans in that galaxy and that's the origin of star wars humans, according to that book
