Obviously it will always exist in the black market form. But there are too many logistics for any government to want to recognize the currency in any official capacity. But in order to properly tax it, they have to recognize it in some form. Bit of a rock and a hard place situation.

The whole point of using it is tax evasion. Banning it is really just grandstanding, if they had any way to enforce a ban they would just tax it.

But they can ban any exchanges that allow you to convert your chicken tendies to their currency. Which makes it much more difficult for a company that accepts the chicken tendies as payment to pay the taxes they owe the government.

But if the government doesn't allow conversion back to their funds, what company would accept payment that they can't use to pay their taxes, pay their employees, pay their rent, pay literally anything?

This would, once again, relegate cryptocurrency to only the black market, which means for most people it might as well not exist.
