RchHomieQuanChi 01/10/18 11:01:21 PM #1:	At least a solo movie without properly establishing his origin in a Spider-Man movie. Venom is a dark parallel to Spider-Man (intentionally so), and not necessarily in just his powers. Peter Parker is the type of guy to blame himself for everything that goes wrong in his life, which is why an important aspect of Gwen Stacy's death is the fact that Spider-Man's webbing is what caused her neck to snap. Or the fact that Uncle Ben died due to Peter's own decisions. But Eddie Brock is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. His life goes to complete shit and he doesn't take any responsibility for it. First he tries to kill himself rather than trying to course-correct his life, then he pins everything on Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Then there's other obvious parallels, like Eddie Brock is somewhat of a meathead, versus Peter being more of a nerd. Or Peter Parker constantly trying to balance out his two lives, versus Eddie allowing himself to be consumed by Venom. It also takes the wind out of Carnage because while Venom is extremely aggressive and much more prone to doing things Spider-Man wouldn't, Eddie is still deep down a good person and overcomes his hatred just enough to be able to function. Kassidy is like, what the symbiote really wants in a person. Someone that gives themselves into it completely and goes fucking wild. Eddie keeps the symbiote in check by making sure to tether it to his humanity and that creates the near schizophrenic struggle he endures while Cletus Kassidy is the least affected by the symbiote personality-wise because the symbiote's purpose and his own psychosis are the perfect storm. Venom is still at the end of the day Eddie Brock, but Carnage and Cletus are one and the same. Think about it like, Eddie Brock is the warden for the symbiote by using his own body as the prison cell while Cletus Kassidy is the absolute worst case scenario. --- As a Level 37 Sage, I expect to be treated with proper respect and acknowledged for my dedication to the GameFAQs Message Board Community as a whole.
