Any antenna you recommend? Any reason to spend more than like $30 on an antenna?

I was looking at those as potential.

#2 is highly directional but supposedly rotates based on tv remote. seems like a point of failure, anyone have an antenna like that?

12 or 13 miles from the Seattle stations, I think it was 15 miles from the Tacoma stations.

this is the one I use
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IF70T4M
it does everything I need it to, never really have any problems with signal except during the worst storms

of course this depends on what those OTA websites tell you that you need

I just have some random one from Walmart. Mount it on the wall indoors. Haven't had any problems

I have a cheap indoor antenna from Walmart that picks up further then that

I also have an outdoor mounted antenna that picks up stations from 50 miles away. It's a antenna direct Clearstream or something like that

I tried 2 of them neither told me what I needed and both showed very different signal strength. the super directional one seems like it would be good for the seattle stations, less than like a 10* difference between the two.

I also live about 1/4 down the way of a hill that ends with the Puget sound so I was figuring I would have some terrain issues for reception. Seattle is pretty hilly. My brother in Bellevue gets a fairly inconsistent signal with an outdoor 60 mile range antenna.

I do. It's an Archer Color Supreme V. Looks just like that. Never had any issues with it.

If mounting an outdoor antenna isn't an issue, definitely get one, and get one with a good range.

You might still have inconsistencies based on where you live, though. Do any of your neighbors have antennas? Maybe ask them how their reception is?

none have an outdoor antenna and i avoid talking to my neighbors.

I'm guessing you tried tvfool.com? That seems to be the most reliable site and is color coded to show what stations can be picked up with indoor/outdoor

If you're going with an outdoor antenna, get the biggest damn thing you can afford, or your HOA will allow.
