But I've worked in restaurants before and even there a half hour before closing time is actually awesome because you'll be done and leaving not too long after we close. Now some 10 or 5 or literally 1/2 minute bullshit is lame and ignorant af.

Note: most workers complain more at the 5-10 minute point and it heavily depends on the amount they're buying/ordering. Basically if we're making your order/staying open past closing time, we'll have a problem with it.

The BBB is anonymous and as long as you file your report in such a way that it can't be traced directly back to you, then you have nothing to worry about. I know this because I've had several complaints filed against me for various reasons.
If you can't file a report in such a way that it is completely anonymous...if, say, your supervisors are "picking on you" or you're in a unique position...then you absolutely are the problem, and/or you need to find a different job.

I work as a volunteer in a Red Cross store. We have a sign up on the door with our open hours on it, yet people still come in 5 minutes before closing time (we've usually changed the sign to closed in preparation for closing BTW), ask us when we're closing (there's a sign on the door, duh) & when we tell them, they still come in, casually look around at stuff & go into the change room to try on clothes, not caring a whit that we're waiting on them.

When you've been on your feet practically all day, often walking back & forth for various tasks, you've still gotta tidy up & close up (an involving process to be sure), work out the takings of the day & make sure it all adds up, be sure to give the float enough change to start with for the next day & get to the bus stop in time so you don't miss your bus & have to wait another half hour or so if you do (even worse if the stop doesn't have a seat & the bus following the bus you miss is late) & you're having to wait for the latest late shopper to hurry up & decide what they want & then give you a $50 note for something that costs $3 & you have to give them change for that or worse still they end up not buying anything & you still have to smile & be polite? You can bet your bottom dollar you're gonna be annoyed to say the least.
