you choose to pay taxes because you decided to live here. next time dont hand over your money because you are more than free to leave. You dont have to be 'slave' if you dont want to. I hear africa and most of the middle east are low taxation regions.

So you were okay with blacks being slaves in this country? They can always run away to a different place...Or how about the woman suffrage? Women chose not to vote because they chose to live here. If they wanted the right to vote they can go to some country that does honor their rights, etc. Btw, income taxes aren't the price of living here, but rather the price of working here. Why? Because people who simply live here, but don't work aren't required to pay taxes. Instead you pay taxes according to how much work you did.

You guys spent 200 messages arguing with someone who asked a rhetorical question. There was never a debate here, he just wanted an excuse to pontificate and further cement that libertarians are dingdongs

Actually, the reason they're still arguing with me is because they're still attempting to explain why taxation isn't theft.

Curious how pretty much all the lowest taxed countries are shitholes. Curious indeed.

everyone knows the topic title is biased and incorrect. nobody cares about your cute attempt to pretend "tax is theft" is inherently correct and the other side needs to prove tax isnt theft. this topic was fun because you are equivalent to a flat earth conspiracy theorist or 9/11 "truther", and your posts are interesting in the same way a train wreck is interesting

So the US is a shithole? As for a list of countries that has mostly shithole countries, try this one...

http://www.businessinsider.com/wef-countries-with-the-highest-tax-rates-2016-9/

And here's the lowest taxed countries...

http://www.businessinsider.com/wef-countries-with-the-lowest-tax-rates-in-the-world-2015-10/

And here's the wealthiest countries in the world...

https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/the-richest-countries-in-the-world.html

I'll let you look at those lists and then you can tell me if you see a correlation between higher taxes and more prosperity...oh and if you happen to notice the opposite you can feel free to say so as well.

This topic isn't about how effective taxes are.

This topic is about your bizarre notions regarding the nature of governments.

Yeah, the majority of those low tax countries are shitholes and America isn't on that list. A lot of the top 10 highest taxed are shitholes too. Also, some of those wealthiest non-shithole countries are higher taxed than America.

Unless you're trying to argue that Middle Eastern and African countries are not shitholes because they have some really rich people, you're wrong. We all know that's all that matters. It's why people are leaving the West in droves. Oh wait.

Those lists do not prove that low tax equals highest wealth or highest quality of life as there are shitholes all over the top 10 of each end of the spectrum.

Slaves were considered property. You, yourself, you are free. Slaves weren't free. Get it? You can leave. IRS wont send vigilantes to come for your head.

So when the mafia or a gang comes around the neighborhood and points guns at you and says "pay up, you're on our turf", then that person is choosing to pay off mafias and gangs because it was their choice to live somewhere where that happens?

Remember, it doesn't matter what the written law says. We are talking basic concepts here.

Their choice to stay. Get up and leave (like many do in latin america) or choose to pay the taxation. Everything you think you own really isnt yours. That house? It isnt yours. The government might say its yours. In reality, it belongs the person or entity with the bigger guns.

We are talking about whether or not taxation is theft. Theft as in the concept, not the legal definition.

How many men? is a thought experiment used to demonstrate the concept of taxation as theft. The experiment uses a series of questions to posit a difference between criminal acts and majority rule. For example, one version asks, "Is it theft if one man steals a car?" "What if a gang of five men steal the car?" "What if a gang of ten men take a vote (allowing the victim to vote as well) on whether to steal the car before stealing it?" "What if one hundred men take the car and give the victim back a bicycle?" or "What if two hundred men not only give the victim back a bicycle but buy a poor person a bicycle, as well?" The experiment challenges an individual to determine how large a group is required before the taking of an individual's property becomes the "democratic right" of the majority.[12]

I like this logic.

Add to the equation...what if a bunch of men got together and wrote on a piece of paper that they have legal authority to take the car from you?

Its not even remotely equivalent to how taxes work. You only like it because it supports your bias
