Gantz is a pretty good philosophical manga. All the monsters they face are society's evils and is pretty nihilistic.

reika and muscle rider are my favorites

the longest running female lead is reika
and pretty much every fight she was in can be summed up the exact same.

reika sees monster
monster gets ready to attack reika
the focus shifts to another character for a chapter or 2
we then get a clip of reika standing over a dead monster she beat effortlessly

its a series where every character can die at any moment and that does make the action scenes pretty exciting since you never know if someone is gonna survive or not

Good lord those are literal gimp suits.

no thats not the one
he opens every chapter with a pin up of a character not shown in the series putting the suit on and they are skimpy
only once was it a hot man.

the suits actually protect them from fatal attacks. even the parts of their skin that isnt exposed is protected so their exposed face cant be hurt either
it also gives them super strength.

if the suit takes to much damage it leaks from the little metal parts near the neck which means the suit no longer is protecting them and they are as vulnerable to impalement as anyone else

usually boss level monsters can kill people even when they are protected by the suits.

also the suits are skin tight so you cant even wear underwear when putting them on so this is used as an excuse to show the girls getting dresses slowly.

some people put their clothes on overtop their suits

i lost interest during the 100 point alien arc

i felt that they should have focused on reika who was made team leader. but she barely does anything in this arc until the very end where she helps fight the 100 point alien. katou gets most of the focus and he is the least interesting character in the entire series

It was a fun series and I would love an actual decent anime be made that covers it all. Still it does have it's week points, a main one being how it goes from creepy and disturbing to practically an action movie.

The last arc is pretty terrible and a lot of loose ends are just forgotten about. Even with that it's a hell of a ride.

Everything up until the 100 pointer is fantastic. After that it's hit it miss. Later on instead of cool looking monsters we get a lot more cgi blobs.

My favorite part is when a character has s sword fight with a dinosaur. It sounds goofy but it's bad ass.

Early to mid Gantz was a good action series but really went down hill and drags on when it gets to the Osaka arc..

And the last 80 finishing chapters just made the entire series explode everywhere.
