A deranged attacker sprayed a woman in the face with a caustic substance on Staten Island Monday morning, yelling "Do you have the time now, b----?" police sources said.

The 52-year-old victim was walking along Woodrow Road by Carlton Blvd. in Arden Heights, when another woman approached her from behind at about 11:30 a.m.

I didnt know the person, said Lizzie Dunn. She asked me for cigarette and I told her no.

She then asked for money and I told her no and sorry. The woman then paused for a few seconds and yelled, I bet you dont have the time either! Thats when the woman grabbed Dunn by the shoulder, spun her around, sprayed her in the face and fled.

She grabbed me from the hood of my coat and sprayed me with something that was very painful, Dunn said.

There was like nine cops here, no joke, and then the ambulance, of course, said a family member of the delis owner, who didnt give her name.

Medics rushed her to Staten Island University Hospital, where she was treated for third-degree burns to her face neck and left hand, she said. The doctors still dont know what kind of liquid hit her, Dunn said.

Theyre trying to figure it out. Some sort of acid, she said. And shes not sure if her injuries will scar over.

At first, Dunn thought the attacker looked like a black man wearing an oversized coat, but she sounded like a woman, Dunn said. The attacker was about 5-foot-2 and 140 pounds, she said.

This is really disturbing that a random woman was carrying around an acid that could cause burns like that.

I actually know online a supposedly 5'2, 140 pound crazy hacker chick from the NYC area who went dark and deleted all her PSN friends around the time this story happened. It'd be interesting if they were the same person.

Anecdote aside, it really sucks that you can just be outside and get randomly assaulted and left with permanent injuries/disfigurements. Especially by alien substances that can't be identified by police. :/

This is a huge problem in the UK, mainly by Pakistanis. Obviously it's also a problem in Pakistan.
