I was able to snag this rare book for only $67. It is currently going on Amazon (used) for $950 and there is only one copy left. Who knows how much it will go for after that copy is snatched up by someone. Take a look for yourself:

It is the true story of the private military company Executive Outcomes. It was a controversial company, so controversial that apparently it was very difficult for this book to get published. It's pretty long and 98% text but there's some cool pictures in it too.

I had been occasionally looking for it online and the most recent time I looked I saw that someone had posted it on a site called thriftbooks for only $67 so that is when I quickly ordered it.

To be fair, this isn't a proper measure of value. If it's a private seller, they can charge whatever they want for it, but it doesn't mean it will actually sell.

That being said, congrats. I hope it is worth that much.

I've been monitoring the book for a while, there used to be more copies of it available at slightly lower prices, so I do think there is some validity to that $950 price. The number of copies available appears to be drying up.

...last year I got those three Amazon exclusive One Piece box sets (4-disc collections 1-12 included) for about $90, still sealed. I thought that was a great deal, but this seems even better. Way to go!

They did not, the US government didn't really like these guys. They were used mainly by African countries like Sierra Leone and Angola. They also did some work for some corporations too, I know some of it involved recovering equipment from rebel held areas but I haven't read much on that yet.

It's not on there, just another book written by someone else involved with the company, but not the founder, that is much more widely available.

I have been interested in this topic for quite some time, which led me to doing a lot of research and whatnot. This man Eeben Barlow is practically a legend in some communities.
