This or sing for the moment.

He has a few though and if we're including D12 "when the music stops" would be top 3.

This is the song that first made me a fan of him way back when. Then he started to suck after lose yourself so I'll say yellow brick road.

For some reason I have a soft spot for 'Brain Damage' off his mainstream debut Slim Shady album. I believe I somehow heard it when I was in elementary school (this was when he blew up) although I'm not sure when/how. Also like how creepy 'Just the Two of Us' is - it's like the low key version of 'Kim'.

I still think 'Run Rabbit Run' or something like 'My Dad's Gone Crazy' might be his legitimate best song though. A lot of contenders from that period. That or one of his diss tracks like 'Nail in the Coffin', 'Bully', 'The Sauce', 'Girls', etc. He always seemed to take diss tracks more seriously.

His diss tracks were weak imo. He never went at anybody at his own level commercially except for ja rule, and that was after 50 was already beating him.

Man I can't handle the kids on this board

Imagine becoming a fan of his from Stan. Like where were you the years before that when he was the biggest thing around? And what is with everyone on this board listing the "samples" as their favorite songs? Like do you not realize that he didn't make those choruses or beats? They're barely his songs. I can't imagine this being my favorite Eminem song:

Not many other rappers at his own level commercially. Em and 50 were/are family.

You should check out Castle off his newest album. It's the only song on it worth a listen but it feels like something that could've fit on Encore or the 8 Mile soundtrack. It's probably the best thing he's done lyrically in ages. It's not really prime Eminem but I think it's the one diamond in the rough that is his newest album.

Yeah, nobody was really dumb enough to step to Em in his prime, and for good reason. He was so good just off the dome back then that if someone had started shit he could've pretty much dropped something annihilating them in a matter of days. And considering he's like the bear selling artist of the 2000's there wasn't really large pool of people on par with him commercially to really make it all that likely of one of his commercial peers starting shit. When you're at the top like he was, you can really only punch down lol.

I'm 28 and black. I was like 9 when Stan came out. Rap on the radio back then wasn't into storytelling so it shook me. Also I didn't like my name is, guilty conscience, or just like me which were the singles I remember getting plays back then so Stan was the first song I heard on the radio back then that I thought had some deeper meaning or whatever as opposed to him acting on a fool on his other tracks.
