Apparently, being able to easily pass a polygraph when you're guilty is a sign of an antisocial personality disorder, so it's actually part of an FBI profile on murderers

Polygraghs just seem like a stupid thing to agree to. If you're the prime suspect, it doesn't matter if you pass, you're still the prime suspect. If you take one and fail it even if you're innocent, you're now the prime suspect. You can't use it in court.

Really doesn't seem to be any benefit to agreeing to one.

They really only use it to confirm what they already believe about you. If you pass they assume you gamed the machine
