They just asked me questions they know damn well I wouldn't have answers to (I just graduated college, of course I don't have working experience with corporate loans), and tried to make me feel like a dumb ass when they asked what my salary expectations are. I said mid-$40ks would be nice. What am I supposed to say? "I'd really enjoy making $30k?"

Looks like college was a complete waste of time. Guess I'll sell my body.

Problem is: this was an entry level position. The only requirements on the listing were "Bachelor's Degree, or High School Diploma plus 3 years experience."

They asked a couple things like that. "Do you have experience in corporate loans? Corporate leases? Whatever-the-fuck specific business software you could never have possibly encountered without having extensive experience?"

This is literally something every recent college grad has gone through. You just gotta either know someone or luck into a job that actually wants no experience (but be prepared to make dogshit money)

"how am I supposed to prove myself a true hero... If nobody will give me a shot?"

You have a degree, you know stuff pertaining to the operations of the company that would be of value. You did your work in college right? This should be easy.

"do you have experience in corporate loans or leases" your answer to that should be.
"I have a bachelor's degree in business and I've taken these classes (list the classes) that I believe give me academic experience with corporate loans, but have I actually been in the driver's seat, of course not, I'm 23 years old and just graduated, but I feel like I'm qualified for the position. The best way to learn is by doing and I need someone to give me a shot, the question is, is this company the right fit for me?"

Just talk their off about how good you are, that shows commitment and a desire to excel. Don't let them make you feel dumb, the position you're applying for is a desk job how hard can it fucking be?

Glassdoor doesn't have every job for every company. I don't know why employers feel the need to keep their pay so secret from their listings.

That's basically what I said, but they didn't like that answer very much.

So you need to make this a growing experience. Write down the questions you were asked. Practice answering them in a way, while not optimal, will make you seem to have a confident answer so next time you interview you won't seem unsure. Confidence is always key.

You have to look up salaries for the same job title at similar companies

If they didn't like the answer you should've just walked out and them, before walking out you should've told them "you know what I'm getting the most negative vibe from you right now, and I don't like it, I had to work really hard for my degree, and I feel prepared to pursue this as a career, good thing you're not the only place hiring, it was a pleasure meeting you, but you can jam your corporate loan position up your ass." walk out and don't turn back, and go straight home and start looking for a another alternative and be sure to make it known that they're doing you no favors by hiring you, you've got a degree and took many difficult classes and you're not looking to work in an unfriendly environment like the last place you were interviewed. Be confident, stand up for yourself. Employers always try to make you feel like they're doing you a favor but if you get sick and are unable to work for 2 weeks they'll can you.
