KOTOR 1 definitely has much better worlds and better quests, you actually fight lightsaber jedi throughout the game instead of at the very end, and it has a complete and great story >_>

KOTOR 2 has better party members, better combat, you fight a busty chick in her underwear, and has a more interesting story (though it is incomplete even with the mod)

The thing I hate most about KOTOR 1 is that the party members kinda suck >_> Carth is insufferable lol, Mission is whatever, Jihani is boring, and Canderous is cool, but at the same time kinda bland. Everyone else is fine I guess.

The thing I hate most about KOTOR 2 is the worlds kinda suck >_> Peragus is literally a snorefest for 3 hours, Telos and Dantoonie are ok but bland, Nar Shaddaa barely has anything interesting to explore and doesn't have much going on even though it's supposed to be a giant seedy city, Onderon and Dxun are bland and are just enemy gauntlets, Korriban is literally just walk into a giant room, solve a puzzle, fight a boss, and walk back out. None of the worlds have this awesome atmosphere or wonder like Tatoonie, Manaan, and even old Korriban in KOTOR1 had

It's the same problem with a lot of sequels I feel. You get a more polished game the second time around but the creativity put into the story and world building feels lazier.

I liked the overall "story" of the first better, but I really liked the second and seeing what happened when the Sith tried to have too many Apprentices at once.

I liked KOTOR 1 more because it was a finished product, all the worlds were different and cool, and I thought the planetary stories and overall story (going around collecting ancient star maps) was a lot better.

KOTOR 2 felt unfinished, but all the side characters were a lot better. I hated the ending and the story at first, but have come to respect them a whole lot more over time. Not very often the villain in a Star Wars story wants to see the total destruction of the Force (light and dark) instead of the typical good vs. evil. Also the Exile's story was awesome, being this weird wound in the force which caused her to be so powerful.

I hate how SWTOR took a shit all over the Exile and KOTOR 2, just made her a basic Jedi Knight who is weak AF

Yeah, story is usually better in 1 while gameplay is usually better in 2. I wish it wasn't like that for a lot of games >_>

Not enough was put back in tho. The only things I noticed was the HK Factory and various scenes sprinkled in the ending.

I agree that 1 had the better story while 2 had the better gameplay. If you get the Restored Content Mod, it makes 2 a lot better. I really think that 2 would have been the better game if they didn't have to cut a lot of content out.
