I don't remember a time I did think it was real. My mom didnt like it much and would complain about it being fake bullshit whenever we watched it.

Seeing some of the wrestlers in public together and arriving at shows together.
Hell after shows they'd all sometimes mingle with stray fans and talk and sign stuff. I was like 14 and it was the mid 80s when I really started watching it. Before that I thought it was just a bunch of mean or angry people wanting to beat each other up and got more money if they win. Also watched local guys practice at the Recreation Center a few times.
