Most of them just suck. They don't know the art of the build up. You can't just have car chases and explosions every five seconds.

80's was peak for the genre tbh. I feel like these days it's either
- A superhero adaptation (and honestly these are their own genre nowadays) - A sequel to a franchise past its glory days - A shitty disaster movie (seriously are these ever good?) - A gritty spy movie following the Bourne trend I'm probably missing some other clich examples.
